Does anyone have a good snowman pattern for shuttle tatting? I would love to have the link or the instructions. Thanks for any assistance that you can give. Rose

Rose,
Here's a link that you might like http://www.ds9designs.com/snowmenbeadkits.shtml

there are several others on the net for free too. Just punch in free tatted snowman patterns. I hope you find one you like or maybe even several to enjoy making. Merry Christmas
Blessings,
Little Bell

That's a really cute pattern. If you don't want to buy a pattern, I guess you could just tat one small circle, and then one bigger circle for his tummy. You could sew buttons on for his eyes and crochet a little scarf for his neck. You could use twigs or toothpicks or those fuzzy pipe cleaners for his arms.

Actually, come to think of it, it'd be pretty easy to crochet the main snowman, and tat a scarf for him out of an edging pattern. Just crochet up two circles, single crochet together, pick an easy edging pattern, and make a small scarf, and kaboom- a "sort of" tatted snowman :-)...

I'd add jingle bells, and glitter, and pom poms and stuff too...which is probably why I've banned myself from the arts and crafts aisle at Michael's lol...:-)... jk...

Good ideas! You could also tat the whole thing and have beads for eyes. You can see how to do that on Jane Eborall's pattern site. Everything I know about adding eyes to tatting I learned from Jane. LOL If you used split rings you could do very small ones and make the scarf. the 'arms' are just a series of inward rings and the ends of the arms, outward rings with 4 picots (cartoons never have 5 fingers) You can check out various patterns for hats and such on other free sites and assemble the snowman all together.

Thank you to those who responded to my request. It is wonderful to be able to ask for help and get it. I am trying to do my own thing (with the help of your suggestions) so we will see. Again, many thanks. Rose
