View Full Version : help with lacy bookmark please!
Hi
I am stumped by this pattern-may just be me, but I have done steps 1-11 (needle tatting) then presumably I have to reverse the pattern to come back again. The trouble I have is, on step 5-6 (the 2 chains) I did a lock join to the ring. What do I do on the way back, as I haven't done the ring yet- do I make a mock picot and join the ring back to the 2 chains? Any help gratefully received!

Mogs:
Can you provide more information about the pattern, such as URL if it is online, or book title and author if it is a printed pattern?
Thanks!

Is this the one Carole?:
http://web.archive.org/web/20001023080457/http://www.picotnet.com/Patterns/LacyBookmark.htm
Or at least that is the only pattern I have seen called Lacy Bookmark.

I have just completed steps 1-11 on the pattern (very strangely written too! I had to re-write it so I could understand it!...noticed a few errors between the pattern and the picture too! ) Anyways....once you get done with step 11, you do step 8 again, then step 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and then you are going to start back with step 5, going forward again. Hope that makes sense.

Well, I just got to the chains 6 and 5 and I have come to the conclusion that you have to make them 1 chan and add a small picot where you combine the two chains, so that when you join the next ring to the chain, you can join the ring to the bottom of the chain in a "backside" picot (or whatever it is called)...that is what I am going to try anyway

One more thing! Don't forget to reverse the order of the stitching on the chain in step 5!:blush:

Here is what I have managed so far. Let me know if you want me to send you what I have written up for the pattern. (it is very sloppy, so I will have to type it up.)
Here is the link to the picture: http://www.intatters.com/album.php?albumid=229&pictureid=2939
Thanks Carol-I have managed up to that point too now!
