Laura from Crafty Frog is looking at stocking Lizbeth thread but she wants to hear from people as to the sizes and colours they would be interested in.

If you are from Australia and want an Aussie supplier of the thread can I suggest you email Laura with your expression of interest at laura(at)craftyfrog(dot)com(au)

This is exciting! - at last we will be able to tat with it too! I've just had an email from Laura, she wants to know roughly how many balls people will be buying for their projects. She says she needs to know how many of each colour to have in stock.
Jenni, you've just finished a doily, how many balls did that take? - perhaps you could let Laura know?
Of course, not everyone tats doilies. Snowflakes and bookmarks would take far less thread, so if everyone can hazard an educated guess as to how many balls they would be needing, it will help her enormously with the ordering process.

There are 210 yards on the size 20 and 300 yards on the size 40. I had plenty left on the 40 caribbean for another doily and I used about 1/3 of a ball of the turquoise after doing Arches. But everyone is different - I calculate pretty sparingly for the amount I will use each round. It would depend how much you "waste" each round and the pattern itself...
The amount on each is certainly adequate for a doily like Arches (Yarnplayer) or Centrino (Iris Niebach) in size. Sorry - beyond that I cannot help.
I would probably buy 2 of a color for a doily just to be sure that if you did run out you would get the same dye lot. You can always find something to do with the left overs I am sure....!!

That's what I told Laura, Jenni - that, for a doily, I would buy two balls, and one if I were to add a variegate into it. So that's about right!
I also told her that if anyone were planning a huge project like a tablecloth, then the thread would probably have to be specially ordered , to get the same dyelot.
Ginny and her huge doilies would use a lot more!
