Well, toddler socks actually. I'm doing up my daughter's easter basket and I don't give her candy yet so I thought I'd edge some socks for her. In my brain it makes sense that it would need to stretch to fit on the feet, so I was wondering if any of you have pics of socks you've done, or could share some of your wisdom and knowledge. What works and what doesn't ?

I have a picture in my album.

I made the edging about twice the size of the sock edge when "relaxed".

I am going to post a picture of a sock I made my granddaughter on my page. To sew the edging on, I put the sock on a little metal Altoids mints box to stretch it, put the edging where i wanted it, and sewed the edging on with thin elastic thread that I got at a wool store that is used to knit into socks and things that need to be stretchy.

To get the length I wanted, I had measured the circumference of the little metal box, tatted the edging to this length and closed the circle.

Hope this helps. Fox : )
