2010 Pathtags

It's time to get the 2010 InTatters collectable pathtag created - but I need some help with ideas for designs.

Here are the design and the finished product from the 2009. It works best if we use white against a solid colour - this design came from a motif I had tatted that was photographed on a red background.

If you'd like to nominate an image of your tatting for the next design, please attach it to a reply here.

Pathtags are sent out to premium members as part of their goodies. If your design is picked you'll get 2 tags as a thank-you. (Premium members will get 2 tags plus the 1 for the membership)

After you become a premium member, go to the PREMIUM MEMBERS LOUNGE and post for the other premium members (viewable only if you are a premium member).
2. You can use them as charms on your tatting accessories or bags or you can use them for geo-caching (http://www.pathtags.com/). They are a lot of fun to collect or to trade!

There are so many beautiful designs, but I would like to nominate this one (http://tatsaway-patterns.blogspot.com/2008/08/hearts-in-snowflake.html) if the lovely Designer approves.

It will work well on a pathtag (http://www.pathtags.com/design.php) (which has design limitations), but it is also intricate enough to maintain interest in the overall design.

To nominate a design we've tatted does it have to be of our own design?

If it's not your own design just let me know who the designer is and if that's the one to use I'll seek permission.

I think one of Jon's patterns would be nice. She is always so generous and willing to help people. Nice way to show her we think highly of her... maybe that could be a theme....designers and tatters who we want to honor?

I think I will nominate Mary Konior's Queen of Hearts (http://www.intatters.com/album.php?albumid=335&attachmentid=3251)design. This is one of my favorite designs, and I have tatted it many times, and I know many of us can say the same thing. After her sad passing early this year I think it would be a nice tribute to her work and her effort to further our craft. I also think it is symbolic of our love of tatting. The heart of a tatter beats one stitch at a time, don't you agree, and Mary was proof of that I think. I think it would be a good design choice for the pathtag as well as a tribute to a tatting master.

I do love that design - it would be a lovely tribute to someone who has been such an inspiration to us all.

I would need a really clean (and large) scan of it done in a single colour against a block colour background, doesn't really matter which colours but white lace or white background would be good. If possible I'd look to make the tag itself in her favourite colour so I'll have to find out what that is. I'd also include her name and years on it - anyone know the year she was born? I'd send a few to her daughter (or perhaps one for each of her children, do we know how many she had?) and look at whether it would be feasible to use some of the money raised from them to go to a charity that she liked. Although so far there's 0 profit from 2009 tags as they were not priced to make money out of them.

I am glad you like my nomination Kersti:-) I like your idea of giving them as gifts to her children and perhaps donating procedes. I will try to work on a sample of it to photo. Gives a good excuse to tat it up again anyway:-)

Have we decided what design we are going with? Will it be the Queen of Hearts? I had bought a 2009 pathtag not so long ago, and love it! I look forward to seeing the 2010 pathtag as well. I might buy a spare to start a geocache here in my area!

Does it mean that pathtags are sent and I can say my friend who paid my paypal account that he will receive one? He was very very surprised when he became it last year, I was glad that he didn't throw it away :-/

Actually it is the 2010 - a lot got lost in the post and so I had to order more. Where I know that someone did not receive I am resending, where I have not heard I assume it got there.

If you could let me know your friend's email address and your own address I can send the tag directly to you - I only have the details that paypal sent me unless I hear otherwise.

I am sorry, but I think plus account isn't about pathtags.. I see advantages of my plus account every day and even if I don't, I bought it because I wanted to help Kersti with this great forum, because I love it.

But if you paid membership last year and don't have 2010 pathtag, I think you should write PM to Kersti..
