Ok - seeing as the first motif hunt was such fun......
Does anyone know who the designer of this pattern is?
It was found online somewhere (can't remember) and I would like to credit the designer where possible as I have a pic of it on my blog.

Any ideas???

Alas, due to an influx of summer guests and a bit of redecorating, my books are not accessible at the moment. Jennie, are we going to make this an ongoing game? I'll simply have to unearth all my books if we are.

Oooh, hope you find out! That is pretty! Do you know the name of it? I had several that I lost where I got them from and just did a Search using the Name of the piece and found the link again. ;-)

Oooh, maybe Dantatter knows the name of the motif then, if not who created it.

Do you know the name/color of the thread used? It is very nice.

Congratulations, Jenni. Only one that you know nothing about. I've a handful of bits and pieces lying around that will never be completed because I have no idea what pattern I was using when they became UFOs. I keep looking at your motif and it's driving me nuts. I KNOW I've seen this somewhere, and not too long ago. BTW, your color choice is brilliant. Is that a HDT?

Vague recollection of having seen this before - I think it's someone's snowflake design - in fact I'm sure it's a snowflake - maybe - but I have no more clues to give you! It's not one of Jon's is it?

The thread is a HDT by Bre-Aly (bought from Etsy) it is an Omega 30 thread hand dyed. Nice to work with and was not at all expensive.

I know there is a line of thought that HDT has to be the BEST quality and that should be what we aspire to and I also believe that we do put a lot of work into our pieces so we should try to use the best we can. All that is fine if you can afford $7 - $10 for 50 meters. But what people have to realize is that not everyone is in the USA where that price only has a little postage added. For me to get HDT the costs are usually double and that starts getting a LONG way out of my budget for such a small length of thread. MY budget is quite generous compared to a lot of people too.

I have 2 suppliers of "inexpensive" HDT that I use - Bre-Aly and Yarntopia Treasures. Both are using 6 cord tatting thread as a base for their HDT and I have had no problems using any of their products. However their prices are low and I get a whole ball.

Not that I do not LOVE the threads Yarnplayer, Tatskool and LadyShuttlemaker put out - I have several of each and they are a delight to use.
Just sometimes you want a color that is a bit "different' to the usual but you don't want to waste the precious expensive ones.

No, Maureen, it is not one of mine. Though it is a nice feeling that you thought of me, :)
Sorry Liyarra, can't help you with this one.

Oh, Liyarra!!! I saw this and started laughing! "Come over to the dark side...we have chocolate....."

I remember so distinctly my son's total disdain of that movie- bred mostly out of his love of the original 3. He came home literally screaming that is was so dumb and his quote that day was "Come over to the dark side, we have cookies" to sum up how stupidly he thought it had been written and acted.

As for me, I'll take either the cookies or the chocolate, lol!

I am having the same problem. I never did find the pattern for that half-finished heart I found in a box of tatting stuff earlier this summer. VERY frustrating. The biggest problem is that SOOOOO many of my old tatting links don't work anymore- it seems like an awful lot of the people who had tatting sites in the past have all shut them down and gone away. I wish there was a way to find all those folks.

You may want to try this site to find them. I have found some missplace patterns here myself.

It looks really close to an octagon pattern in DMC Charted Designs. But the outer ringing and chaining are just a bit different.
