OK, this is an additional challenge on top of the usual monthly challenges.
I'm looking for scans/photos of tatted motifs/small doilies that I can use on the website. I'm looking to use them for the following
as a standard avatar for all members who haven't yet chosen one
as part of an avatar library so new members can choose one to represent themselves
on designs for the top navigation area and logo for the site
as part of icons used throughout the site
To meet this challenge you need to:
tat up a piece, it can be your own or someone else's design
use coloured thread, not white or ecru. Can be multicoloured however variegated threads are generally not as effective. Likewise black and very very dark colours are also not as effective.
place the piece against a plain white background such as a clean sheet of paper or card
scan or take a very very sharp photograph with even lighting
image needs to be straight on, no angles at all
image needs to contain the piece clearly within it (not cut off) so the piece will need to be smaller than the scan or photograph area
piece should be no more than 4 inches across
ideally it will show picots and other decorative elements so that it is obviously tatting and not crochet or other crafts
attach the image to a reply to this thread

If the egg I made for the April Challenge would work you may certainly use it. The picture is on my InTatter page and the pattern is already posted in the Challenge.

Kersti,
If you can use any of these, you are most welcome to do so. I've tried to make certain they are all if not 4 inches, at least very close to that. I might have some others, but they would have to be scanned on white. Right now a lot of my pieces are scanned on color to better show contrast.

I hope this doesn't look pushy, but I found some more. Not everything I've got is probably suitable, because I like using variegated and ombre threads, and some of those might not show up well. The purple one is the motif I made for my "homework" in Sharon Brigg's Design class.

Marty I sure don't think it is pushy, :flowers: I love what you have been submitting as I have with the work others have submitted. I thank you and the others. I hope you and the others keep them coming the more the merrier.
