Hi everyone!

I'm creating a hairpiece for a friend's wedding. The wedding flowers are stargazer lilies and the big catch is that she doesn't like the tatting "with all the rings and loops."

Sigh.

So we went trough a bunch of pattern books and she picked out what she likes. Luckily she does like the patterns with a lot of chains on top of chains so I thought I'd modify a pineapple design for the petals of the lilies. (For those who think I mean the fruit when I say pineapple, here's a pretty butterfly with pineapple wings: http://picasaweb.google.com/AeonSpider/TattingBracelets#5079759453761026754)

The catch? I don't actually have any pinneapple patterns. Does anyone have suggestions for designing pineapples or some patterns that could be modified?

Thanks!

Teri Dusenbury at The Tatting Guru has some patterns based on tatted pineapples-- including the butterfly in the picture you linked to. The location is http://teritatbitdusenbury.wordpress.com/ . Look in her pattern library on the right hand side bar.

I think this is the same thing as above, only a more direct link. Look under the tatted butterfly collection; it's not that far down. Good luck with the lilies.

Awesome. Thanks to both of you for those links. I think I'll get some good ideas off of them.
