I made this as part of my fair entry. I found out the hard way, an easier way of connecting the motifs together. I still need to hide the ends and starch it. I'm showing it here with a balloon blown up to help shape it. I will also be diagraming the design after the fair ends, so if anyone is interested in the pattern, I'll make it available then.6953

There is a rose-colored balloon inside of it. I'm holding the end between my fingers. When I get some not holely balloons I'm gonna starch it to keep shape. This balloon was leaking it's air.

Hi Imoshen,
Wow, that's a darling little soccer ball. Please share the pattern with us. It's hard to find things to make for boys, and this would be a great gift for my grandson. Good luck at the fair!

Great futball! I can see tatting at least two for my sons. Although neither plays much anymore, they do some coaching and each has their favorite teams/players that they follow.

Cool! Done in green and red it would make a great ball for Christmas!

Thanks everyone for your approval. This year we have an actual 'retired' tatter judging pieces at the fair and I was kind nervous thinking it wouldn't measure up. I just got a major confidence boost from all of you.:flowers:

I would love to have the pattern so I can make it for my sister's son who used to play soccer all the time.

The ball got a white ribbon in one of the contest, it was part of a theme. I will work up and diagram the pattern early next week. I plan to have it out by Oct.10th at the latest. I'm going to have to make my motifs for my Tatted Shuttles being made for me first.

That is just so incredibly clever! Way to go. I have a couple of students who play, and the best way to engage either of them in a writing lesson is to make it about football. This is a great thing I could give them for work well done. I look forward to seeing your pattern.
