Hello Everyone,
I am looking for a pattern to needtat my own veil for a renewal of vows! We are doing a halloween costume party for reception. I was hoping to have a continuous pattern and not a motif to stitch together. I understand that it will take me a while but, I have until 2012 to get it done. If anyone could please direct me, it would be wonderful.
Thank You

Are you looking for a square veil, an oval or a round one?

Found this the other day and thought it was lovely! It isn't a veil, it is a bridal shawl, but may give you an idea on what you could do with a continuous pattern like that. The link is http://www.georgiaseitz.com/younkin/younkin.html
There is another thread here (http://www.intatters.com/showthread.php?1197-bridal-veil-pattern) about veils.

I love that pattern on Georgia Seitz's website. I'm working two shawls of something similar (same basic pattern, but different stitch count), one in all white and one with white chains and purple rings. It really looks great with two colors.
Thanks Lynn, for the link to the other thread. There's a lot of great links there and I'm getting some ideas for new projects. (Like I need more unfinished projects...)
Good luck!

Actually, if you like the pattern of the bridal shawl it's REALLY easy to turn into a square. It's actually so super adaptable I taught a whole class on some of the different ways it can be transformed at Shuttlebirds and now I'm selling the booklet for that in my Etsy shop. (In case someone is interested: http://www.etsy.com/listing/58064522/pdf-of-the-transforming-motif-pattern)
The basic way to turn this pattern into a square is think about how a square is really just two right angle isosceles triangles (two sides the same length). You tat one triangle and then you and then tat the other joining as you go along the longest side.
Send me an email if you're interested. I've probably got some pictures on my harddrive somewhere that explain it better. jessica@snapdragonlace.com

Hello! Can anyone enlighten me as to how you go about making that Jean Younkin shawl? I've been staring at it since I downloaded the motif 2 years ago!

I've been trying to figure out that same shawl! It looks absolutely gorgeous but it's not cooperating with me. =\

I am looking to do a square veil or diamond shaped! We have decided to do an old west theme with the bustle gown wedding dress that I am making myself! I am using very small #80 thread with a #8 needle! It is going to take me a while but, we have changed the date to 2015 so I have plenty of time!

But let us see some pictures! 2015 is so long in the future! If you have started, please let us share your adventure!
