Looking for tatters in the NorthWest Arkansas area. I have been shuttle tatting for over 30 years. I would enjoy meeting anyone who lives in the area and tats or would like to learn. There is a Lace Guild in the area that mainly does bobbin lace with a few tatters. Thanks!

I moved here a year ago and am still learning the area. My grandmother was a tatter and I inherited her shuttles, however they didn't come with lessons. I loved to watch her tat and now would like to learn myself. I live in the city limits of Fayetteville, very near the botanical gardens on Hwy 265. Would you consider teaching me? I'm an over 60 widow and work full time.

I am in the Gainesville, Mo area--right on the state line with Arkansas. Does that put me close to you?

I had to look up where Gainesville is and unfortunately not very close. I live south of Fayetteville and I am a member of a guild that meets in Springdale. I do know a lady that lives in Yellville, AR that is learning bobbin lace but I don't think she tats. We have a member in Harrison and in Springfield MO. I will add you to my friend list and let you know if there I am going to be closer and you can do the same if you are going to be near us? Glad to hear from you!

Seems there are not any tatters around here! Mine goes with me most everywhere (much to hubby's distress) and have always a comment on it. Funny thing that happened--we went to church Wednesday night (new church) and they were having a business meeting that got interesting. Anyway, I was tatting during all of this. When I next went to tat Friday I could not find my scissors or my ring of crochet hooks for joining! I was a little upset. Anyway we went back to the same church for Sunday services, and the deacon came up to me and asked if I was missing these items! They had inadvertently fallen into the pew and been picked up. They definitely knew they were mine! The gentleman told me "now you can do your knitting again!" LOL
