:thankyou:Thank you so much for your responses to my previous post directing to you to my blog post about how to crawl out of a round when tatting with 2 colors. In that blog post I explained how to use a MSR (Mock Split Ring) or Dora Young technique in order to climb out and keep the colors consistent.

Did you know that it is not the ONLY way to do that!?

No, it's not! We are not limited to the MSR alone!

If you'd like to know more about this new option involving the SSSR (Single Shuttle Split Ring) please come on over to my blog post about it here (http://tattingchic.blogspot.com/2009/05/tale-of-two-split-rings.html).
I'd love to have you stop by! :welcome1:

I say that having 2 ways to climb out of a round with 2 colors (and keeping them consistent) is a reason to celebrate, wouldn't you?

Wow. LOL-LOL-LOL-LOL-LOL I had to drag myself off the floor and back onto my chair (pant) in order to let you know how much (gasp) I enjoyed your (WHEEZE) Fractured Dickens. And finally, at long last, incredibly, I see there is really a good reason to become adept at the SSSR. Celebrations are a good idea.

TattingChic,
I hope you won't mind my mentioning your technique during my four classes on 'Dora Young in the C21' at the IOLI Convention in LA in July? The present-day applications of Dora's knnotless method ring are really interesting.
Judith.

Seing this wonderful way of climbing out of rows with two colours, made me think I could use two colors for the wings for the Minor Norwegian Dragon (http://www.nuperelle.net/drager/monstre/MinidragerEng.pdf), one for the rings and one for the chains. I forgot abut there being a row with rings made with both shuttles :ermm:

But, by ceating a bit I did manage to make one with solid coloured rings and variegated chains.

Have a look! (http://www.intatters.com/album.php?albumid=5&pictureid=1478)

Thank you, Judith, and as discussed before...please DO mention it when teaching at IOLI! That would be awesome!

Hi Anne B! however you can use this method to help your tatting easier with 2 colors, the better! I think it's awesome to think of the myriads of ways to utilize it! :)
