I received an e-mail from a 69 year-old who is looking for someone to teach her how to tat ever since she was 9 yo. She is from Montcalm, near the village of Lakeview, Michigan.

I'm about 3.5 hours Northeast. I'd be happy to help if she can ever get this way. Unfortunately I don't drive so can't meet her half way.

I received a link from Georgia Seitz to the IOLI site that lists links to lace guilds by state, and there is one for Michigan. There is one about one-and-half hours from her.

I wish some of those were closer to me, but they are all at least 4 hours or more away...sigh

Another suggestion, which she may have tried already, is to find a half dozen nearby Senior Centers where they serve lunches to seniors. I'm betting that some of them tat and a sign or announcement might bring out more than one. They're often also good places to meet for the lessons.
