2010 Official InTatters Calendar

I'm having thoughts of a 2010 InTatters Calendar... toying with the idea of patterns and or images submitted by members... then maybe a book later on. What do you think? Would you be interested in submitting your work for it or in buying it?

Keen Idea! I'd buy at least one; and, probably copies for gifts. Not a designer but do enjoy other's patterns a great deal.
When I did a lot of counted x-stitch: I had such a calendar and it was great..
Seems a Tatter's Calender would really go over well. :thmbup: Bev

Well, since I'm a brand new tatter, I couldn't contribute, but I'd certainly purchase one. I've seen members' patterns here on the forum, & they're wonderful!

I know several tatters, so I'd recommend it as well.

What a great way to share our tatting addiction with others. So many people don't really know what tatting is so a calendar will be a wonderful showcase.

I'd buy one - I've been thinking it would be a great ideat to make one, but if Intatters did it I wouldn't have to come up with 12 months all by my self!

I think its great too. Would we have a picture of the pattern and say have the actual pattern on the back of the page ?

I'm thinking picture(s) of the finished piece and the pattern beside it - or perhaps pictures with URLs for the patterns so if it's a more complicated piece it's still a nice enough calendar for others to see

So ideas for the calendar months...

Jan - snowflakes
Feb - hearts
Mar - shamrocks
Apr - eggs, bunnies
May - masks (venitian masques held in May)
Jun - butterflies
Jul - flowers
Aug - edgings
Sep - small doilies
Oct - Halloween
Nov - bookmarks
Dec - christmas

I'm guessing that there will be more and less for some months, so if we end up with lots of flowers we may end up using them on another month if there's a lack of patterns for that one.

Now all you newbies take note, some of these we can use smaller patterns, just because you haven't designed before doesn't mean you can't!

And these do not need to be totally new patterns - if you've already got one designed and written up then that will do nicely.

We need to choose patterns with enough time so that they can be tatted and then photographed - it's over to you!

I'm thinking a large pattern or a couple of smaller ones for the month. One per day would be lovely but I don't think we could do that in the time we have

I think it's a great idea! Though I also have a suggestion for it, perhaps you could work out next years exchaanges, or at least when they are happening and post that on the calender so we could all see it!

OK, if you have a pattern that you would like to submit to go into the calendar please send it to me - you can do that by PM or by email. I need to get as many pattern submissions as I can in the next 3 weeks in order to make the cut off time! Patterns do not need to be new for this, but they do need to be your own design. You do not need to have a fabulous finished example or great photos, that part will come later - at the moment we just need patterns!!!
