This challenge is part of the 2010 Calendar Challenge Series.

What is the 2010 Calendar Challenge Series?
We're working on a calendar for next year so this is a group of challenges for our users to find the perfect patterns to use in our 2010 calendar.

How do I take part in this challenge?
There are many ways, you can suggest a theme for a month, you can design a pattern - either one of the suggested themes, or one of your own. Once the suggested patterns are chosen, we'll also need people to tat samples - it would be great to include more than one of each pattern in the finished product.

We'll need to get these finished by the end of October 2009 so that they can be ready in time for Christmas!

I would like to participate in this project - sounds like great fun!

Do you want us to suggest themes here?
I'd be happy to try tatting some of the samples and would be willing to try designing something too.

OK, if you have a pattern that you would like to submit to go into the calendar please send it to me - you can do that by PM or by email. I need to get as many pattern submissions as I can in the next 3 weeks in order to make the cut off time! Patterns do not need to be new for this, but they do need to be your own design. You do not need to have a fabulous finished example or great photos, that part will come later - at the moment we just need patterns!!!

Kersti,

I would love to join this challenge. I am not that creative to have a pattern of my own, but would love to help out test tatting. Let me know what I need to do to participate.

I am so glad there is a project for me to do in 2010. I need something like this to motivate me...

Thanks,
Sunela

Yes, certainly do need new designs - haven't got anywhere near enough yet :(

For those who are new to design, a vintage pattern would be great too :)

Kersti,
I have several free patterns available, if they are of any use to you. Just go to my blog and the links to the PDF patterns are on the right hand side bar.

Do the patterns need to be written out, or is a diagram ok?

How many design submissions have you received so far?

Do you have the pictures in an albumn anywhere so the rest of us can see if anything is "missing"?

The only thing I've designed and diagramed is the first of four playing cards. I uploaded the completed diamond into the member patterns sections. Feel free to use that if it'll help. I'll work on finishing the pattern for the others by next week.

Kersti,
I'm willing to give it a try. I'm sure you will find something I can help out with. It's one way for me to get better at tatting. Right? Well, let me know what you want me to do.

Well for this to work we need more patterns! It occurred to me that it would be lovely to do an April-May calendar to coincide with international tatting day.

We can use some public domain patterns where there are gaps, but I'd love to see this as a members' pattern calendar. To submit your design, and it doesn't matter how big or small it is just attach the image of the tatted piece/diagram of the design to a reply here. If we get more than we need we'll vote on the designs. Would be lovely to also include a photo of the designer to make it a little more personal.

Hi Kersti,
Here are the 2 bookmarks I have designed. The patterns may be similar to some out there, but these are my own deisgns. Well, it isn't letting me load them...they are in my album here (http://www.intatters.com/album.php?albumid=229&attachmentid=2546) and here (http://www.intatters.com/album.php?albumid=229&attachmentid=2182). As for a picture of me, you will find one here (http://www.intatters.com/member.php?1131-carolivy) as well.

Hi Kersti.
I would love to participate as well. I can usually tat most patterns but I haven't designed any patterns. If there is any pattern you want tested I would be up for that
