So... Yesterday, I was neatening up my craft supplies, arranging and moving stuff, I came across a jar of Hama Beads. They're fusible beads that you iron to melt them together, I bought these to play with my nephew as I normally buy a sample pack of some crafts and we make stuff together when he comes over to stay. Its how I find out, what crafts he likes doing... Kinda like doing product research, but with a little one!

I have used it but the thread get stuck on top, maybe if I ironed that side too when I make another one...

I would never have thought of that! - my granddaughter used to love those, but I was told by the toyshop that they had been withdrawn from sale because they were toxic....this was several years ago, maybe the new, improved version is back now.
Very clever idea!

Oh. Well according to the manufacturer's website, its made with food grade plastic. Totally safe!

Food grade plastic has a low tolerance for off-gassing toxics into the food. However, unless its plastic designed to also withstand heat without off-gassing, I'd check further or make sure the area you're ironing them in is well ventilated.

So, I have been thinking about this. How did you iron on a curve for the shuttle shapes...?

I taped it to the side of the bead jar, whilst the plastic beads was hot. Then I let it stay on the jar until cool and solid.

The middle part was a bit fiddly to glue, I might use a spool for the next one.
