The new Lizbeth colors are out! I am a little disappointed with the fact that a "bright rainbow" wasn't in the "new" colors, but the yellow that changes from bright to light is pretty. I'm not excited about the "marbles" either, but that is because I like to tat with BRIGHT colors. I'm sure some will appreciate the gray with purple or gray with pink blends.

I too like brighter colors, but not the "candy" combos of late; Ocian Sunset or fruit fizz for example. And pink/ brown is my all time abhorred combo. I've just come to the understanding that my color likes are probably not like the majority out there. I love combining a cream, deep olive green, and a rust brown...very desert. I also really like a vibrant purple/green or a golden yellow/purple combo. Impressionist colors; think Monet, Seurat, and Van Gogh's color pallets. Maybe a black and blood red. *laugh* maybe I just need to kick myself into gear and dye my own.

I so agree with you two. Some of the combinations *are* a bit "bizarre". . .can't imagine wanting the grey in the "marble" threads. I've sent in a couple of suggestions and was hoping they'd use at least one of them. I have a couple more ideas including one called African Safari. . .so we'll see. I do like the two new green solid color threads very much. I just now got a package from HH. Wish I'd waited a couple of days to place the order as the new colors came out the day after. . .oh well. . .just an excuse to place another order.:ermm:

I like more muted colors, personally. I'm not too fond of pastel or really bright colors that look almost neon. But I find that it all depends on the project. Sometimes the bright colors are the best for the job. It will be fun to get a few of these and try them out.

ME TOO *laugh*
Just tatted up some things in Blue River Glades - 164 and Grape Splash - 165 and COUNTRY SIDE-117 - LOVELY! I would have loved to pick up the gray/purple. I guess what I was saying is that I wish they would have left the thread in the dye a bit longer for deeper colors. *laugh* even in art school I was a strait-out-of-the-tube-vibrant kind of artist.
I've sent a long list of "ideas" to them - I admit to asking for more shades of gray to mix with colors. Mine would all be "fall" colors. So much thread so little time.
Emeania - you would probably like the Grape Splash. I'll bring my stash to guild next week.

It is funny what we like. Ocean Sunset and Fruit Fizz are two of my FAVORITE colors. I like to have "flower" colors with NO green for rings paired with a matching green for chains. I wish they had done a "Tequila Sunrise" with a more blended reddish/orange/yellow combo as opposed to "falling leaves" which has abrupt changes. The new "orchard" greens on screen look much like the leaf green does in person. I broke down and bought some etsy thread that IS a bright rainbow, but the hand dyed etsy thread is SO much more expensive than a full ball of Lizbeth. I guess I'll be waiting until the Sept-Nov "new colors" to place an order.

I love the Blue River Glades and the Jungle Greens. I really like that they're starting to do more variegates that stay more within the same family of colors I don't like using the really multicolored ones that switch radically. I like to be able to follow the actual tatting better. Sent in some color ideas yesterday. Hopefully one of them will be picked!

Good luck! I think Jungle Greens is one of my favorites ever. I like the "same hue" colors too. The "radical changes" ones are often nice for chains, where the colors seem to blend better.

I ordered the Green Coral Sea and it does not look anything like it did on line. . .very lime and orange. . .not sure what to do with it.
After my first statement here, I decided to try tatting an edging to add to a t-shirt which matches the "coral" color. . .I think I like it. I know you can't judge a book by the cover. . .I guess you can't judge a thread from the ball LOL!!

UGH! My sympathies. I usually use "ugly" colors for "man" bookmarks. Maybe those colors would pair OK with brown, dark grey, or black?

Maybe the darker part of the thread is in the middle of the ball?

16764Here's Girly Girl done up. I like it. But I don't like anything with grey in it. I don't even like grey cars. Gimme some jazz. I suggested deep rainbow colors too. That would look nice.

I wonder how many of us need to suggest a bright rainbow before they MAKE it! For those tatters who dye their own thread, I've heard that a bright rainbow is one of the most challenging colorways, which may explain why we didn't get that one. I'd still like some "peacock" colors: dark lime/bright blue/darker blue/little navy/touch of gold or some such, but I've done some "hand wound threads" with metallic and Sulky teal that are probably going to last me for a while with the basic colors for a Peacock tail.

So many pretty colors too!!! I haven't used up any of the ones I bought, but I hope they still have them when I used up every ball of thread... eventually!

I guess in all the Lizbeth thread I have bought, the one I am most unhappy with is the "falling leaves" looked so much prettier online and in the color chart that comes with the newsletter.Does anyone besides me think that sometimes the color (especially the varigated) looks better on the ball than it does on something I have tatted?

Ordering colored items, thread, fabric, clothing, on line really is a "crap shoot". . .you never REALLY know what it's going to look like. The new Handy Hands website does have a feature where users can upload items they've made with Lizbeth threads. That may help some in deciding if you like a thread or not.
Chessie, I actually like Falling Leaves. I've done leaves, petals, a necklace, and currently making a tabby cat... but, as janet says, its a crapshoot... I have a couple of solids that now look boring.

I have made a couple of bookmarks with this color..mostly I use it when practicing a pattern I have not made before.

It can be a surprise either way. I saw River Glades made up by someone else on the web and I thought it was beautiful, so I ordered a ball. When I arrived, I was disappointed at what I saw on the ball (DH even told me he thought it was ugly). But I have tatted it up and it is looking much better worked up (DH now says it is beautiful). I also have another ball that my brother wanted me to buy, that I would have passed up on, but I bought it, with a frown. After working it up, it is one of my favorite colorways. Very surprising and it tickles me now to work with it and see it finished. I have seen falling leaves worked up and thought it look gorgeous, but just can't bring myself to buy the ball, because everytime I see the ball, I think it looks ugly. You can't really tell my looking at the ball, how the thread will work up. Especially if it has a lot of color changes.
Good luck with that lime and coral thread, Janet.
