The summer exchange theme is Clovers. :lucky: Whatever item you choose to make should contain at least one clover or trefoil. I would encourage participants to challenge themselves. Try a new pattern, add/drop picots in a familiar pattern, or use a color of thread you don’t normally use.
Please send item in a standard envelope and include a note (don’t forget to let you partner know the thread type and pattern name).
To join please PM me the following information:
Name; both your real name and your screen ID
Mailing address
1, 2 or, 3 exchange partners.
If there is any specific info your partner needs to know.
Privet Message me when you send out your exchange and when you receive your exchange.
Enjoy and happy tatting!

*smiles* I'm certainly not going to hunt you down and fine you *LAUGH* I chose to say "fits into regular envelope" so that those with little money or means wouldn't feel pressure to put together packages. It's a tatting exchange so I say focus on tatting. If you choose to send a little something extra out of the goodness of your heart I'm not going to stop you.

I found a surprise in my mail box on this past Saturday, an envelope from Geek_Girl. She sent me two items, the Green knots bookmark and Rose window by Yon Yusoff. I just love them, they are both on my list to do so now I have models to study when I work on these pattern myself too.
I love both colorway of the threads too, both are Lizbeth 20, Green Knots is with Blue River Glades and the summer snowflake is with Wild Flower Garden. I am going to get some of these thread too for myself as I have been wanting to get some just wasn't sure which ones. Thank you so much Maggie!

Okay, there are 5 people I've not heard from on sending out their exchanges. I will be sending PMs to figure out what is up.
Sorry that I've been AFK for a week or so. There were a number of family health things that came up unexpected and my church congregation got so large the area reps split into two new groups (Wards as we call them). Nothing like forming a whole new church congregation to flummox life a bit. Oh, and DH went back to work with the new school year...MUCH to the dismay of my 4 year old. *laugh*

What a lovely Clover pattern! and you can't tell it but the thread is VERY fine! And such pretty colors... they remind me of pretty fall leaves.
She did a wonderful job and it looks so delicate :) She said I could use it as a Bracelet or a Bookmark... as I don't like to wear anything (even a wrist watch) on my wrists (drives me buggy!) I think it will make a wonderful addition to my Bookmark Collection! Thanks so much Kocuria!

the thread is polish ariadna's ada, which is i think size 30... or maybe 40, they don't specify it anywhere. and it's a hdt :) the pattern - i've found somewhere in between inspiration photos on my computer, but for the love of my cats can't remember whose is it  i'll try and find out.

Now that I've checked more closely, it compares with my Lizbeth size 40 but looks so much finer... I think because you seem to be a firm tatter (like me Ü ) and it tends to compress the thread. I really do love the colors! Ü

01-09-2012, 03:11 PM
i think i just saw a picture of it... but the way i did it is 5p4p1, 1j4p4p1, 1j4p5 for trefoils (in second row the top picots of each ring are joined to the appropriate picots of the first row) and 5p5p5p5 or 2p3p5p5p3p2 (when you want chains joined to each other near the trefoils, which i really like) for the chains, the joins are pretty self-explanatory when you look at the pictures. it's done in two rounds - one side, cut and tie, second side.
hope it's understandable
Thanks so much, Kocuria. I'm looking forward to trying this one!

Today turned out to be great in spite of waking to buckets of rain. On my way out to play shuttle bus, I stopped by the mailbox and there was an envelop :) My Summer 2012 Clover Exchange from PattyD. Lovely necklace and pendant. "The idea is vaguely based on the pattern 'Roses and Vine Bookmark' by Paulette (in Member Pattern Forum)." Patty's fiddling is fabulous.

I am so glad you like it. At first I wasn't sure I was done, but I have found that is always a good time to quit. I am rather fond of my solution for resizeable necklace with no moving parts. That odd bead is to hold an SSSR in place. I had no intention of sewing the ends into all those spirals.

I received my exchange from my partner over the weekend--unfortunately I was away for an extra-long weekend, but returned to a lovely surprise. Thanks to MzBanKai, who challenged herself to learn both clovers and two-color tatting, and did a smashing job on these lovely small pieces in my favorite color combination--pink and green. She also sent a nifty "doo-dad" for me to play with! Perfect timing, as I've been interested in trying tatting on findings.

I know how you feel... Mine didn't make it to her either... I filed a report with the customs info to try to track it down.. It got lost between our local office and the US customs office.. Never made it there, so they are checking on it. Fingers are crossed!
