I am new to this forum and I thank you for the warm welcome.
I run a small craft group in connection to the U3A ( university of the third age), we meet once a month in each others homes and as well as doing our own thing, we also like to try out new crafts. Tatting was our subject for June, so I though I better learn how to do it before I could help others, well I'm hooked. We tried working with a bobbin but decided this was not suitable for some of the group, so we moved on to needle tatting which was much more successful. I learnt what I know from YouTube tutorials, which are very helpful, but I have a long way to go to reach the standard of the Tatters in this forum. At the moment I am working on small pieces for cards etc.. I love the white on white effect of the wedding card I have just completed and my next project will be red, green and gold wreaths for my Christmas cards. Unfortunately I haven't figured out how upload pictures yet.
I know that I can convert most basic patterns for Needle tatting, but if anyone has a link to specific Needle Tatting web-sights, I and my group would be very grateful. Thank you.

Welcome to the community, Poppy. Please invite anyone else in your group to join too. The more, the merrier.

To upload photos, first create an album. You'll find how to in the FAQ pages.

I don't know how to needle tat yet - plan to learn a bit later this year. However, many here are ambitatterous, and will be happy to help you. I understand that anything that can be shuttle tatted can also be needle tatted.

There is a needle tatting forum here (http://needletatting.proboards.com/). It's not very active. I think the owner of the site has gone missing for over a year now. But you can still find some valuable information there.

Totusmel has instructions for a pendant here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73luorqg8v4). She also has some really good tutorials and patterns on instructables (http://www.instructables.com/member/TotusMel/).

If there is anything at all we can do to help you and your group, just post. There's nothing we love better than to gang up on each other with tips and sources.
