Thanksgiving trip.
I am a little bummed this evening. My brother D. Nolan was to come to California for Thanksgiving. My husband and I have rented a house on the California coast for five days. We were so looking forward to my brother coming. He is the one with pancreatic cancer. He is not doing well as far as nutrition and stamina. His Chemo and radiation is over. His PET scan this week is negative, but he is not well enough to travel from Texas to California.
My DH and I were looking forward to this vacation for us and for him, but it is not to be. We will still go and send him pictures, but it will not be the same. The doctor is thinking about putting him in the hospital to build up his nutrition, he has lost 60 pounds in the past 6 months. Having a hard time keeping things down. He can eat chicken today, but not two days from now. It is very frustrating.
Pancreatic cancer is such a terrible thing.
For all of you who will be with family this holiday, cherish them to the fullest. Do not fight and fuss. Reach out to those with who you are distant, Distance and be in miles or in emotions. If they do not respond in kind you have done your part.
Take care and I hope each one of you here at intatters has a great week, even if you do not celebrate the Thanksgiving that we do in the USA. All of us has something to be thankful for.
