Perhaps Karen C has a you-tube on multiple shuttle tatting? AS for beads, I learned how to use them in last year, and that has lead to a whole new addiction! Have fun!

I have a book called Tatting Hearts, by Teri Dusenbury. It has two pattern involving 3 shuttles. I wish I could see a hands on demo about using three shuttles. But, where I live, there aren't many tatters. I have a few suggestions from friends on In Tatters, but an actual physical demo would be so much nicer.

Ah, I am now jealous of you. I have some old crochet patterns that are from Japanese designers. They have such a wonder design asthethic. I love them all. I prefer the diagrams myself. It should be very easy for you to learn. I need to go back an pull my old ones out, hmmmm. = )

Oh what fun! I'm sure you can handle it .... Especially with diagrams. And if you have questions you can always ask, there are lots of crocheters here too.

I don't know you but my heart goes out to you. It sounds like life has taken you on quite a roller coaster ride.... hang in there. I have been using tatting, knitting and crochet to get me though hard times too although no where near the same type of trials you have had. I have chronic pain and other health problems and tatting especially has help me. It's amazing how creating something can help you feel better. Sometimes it helps keep your mind off of things that trouble you and other times it lets you think when you need to. Another thing I do is write.... I write in my blog - sometimes I make the entries private sometimes I just delete them.... but it helps to write it out just like you were telling someone about it. I know how hard it is to lose a grandmother too. I was very close to mine and I still miss her and think of her daily. When my mom two years later died I started a blog especially for her called letters to heaven and every entry is a letter to her. I use that whenever I am really missing her. Anyway, I will be thinking of you and your family and your friend.....

I too am working on Christmas gifts. How is your weather in Utah. We have had two days of less than 45 degrees and rain in western Wisconsin. My grandson's b-day party today. Then on to tatting this evening. Best of luck with your decorations. I love Christmas!

Provo "happy valley" near BYU. The view is nice, but the area is overrun with oblivious students. My father grew up in the house I'm in now (daughter is 5th generation to live there), but it's not as nice as it once was. Honestly the view is almost the only thing going for it.

Some day I'll have a acre of land so I can forget I have neighbors *laugh*
