Hard as it is for the younger crowd to imagine, 'personal computers' in the late 1970's were primitive, little more than dedicated word processors with no picture capability. My first 'computer' was a Systel word processor with an electronic typewriter input/output device. I brought home from work scrap pages of 11"x14" computer paper to type the book on, leaving spaces for photographs to be pasted on. I bought a flat-bed copier and reduced the sheets to 8 1/2" x 11" ...
