It's a long drop for the goslings.

This is my first attempt at Mary Konior's glass mat, in her book Tatting with Visual Patterns. It was a challenge for me. First problem, I just used some cheap white thread, not singed. And it even had a thick spot. Every time I had to undo a ring, it broke. And I made lots of errors in the pattern. It requires good concentration. This is Regal Heart from Teri Dusenbury's book. It's not precisely as her instructions are written. I'm a flip and chain kinda gal. This heart is slated for another cap.

This bookmark was named for Jane Eborall and Jane McLellan. It's an adaption and modernization of a braid pattern from Anna Burda. I really enjoyed making the pattern. I've already started another one. The tail is all split rings and a little medallion.

Jane Eborall gave me this site to learn the split chain. It is the best. I've watched it several times and my first tries were a little messy. But you soon learn that you want to keep the ds over to the left. And you leave the first half a little loose. Then you pull the second half to tighten the first then pull the shuttle to tighten the second half.
The next row is going to be a heart. I'll show it again when I'm finished.
