I decided to make a gift for my grandmother in law who recently helped us out of jam. Not strawberry flavored either. Now she likes my tatting so I thought I'd make her an hanky. I found a good deal on a few and picked up 4 packages. After trying out a few different edgings I settled on one from 1000 Mailles, it's a foreign magazine. i never realized how tedious it can be adding that initial tatting to the actual hanky. Yes, I suppose I could have done the edging and then sewn it on later, but why ...
I had some family ask for some rosaries. I looked online for patterns and through my many books and PDF files but can't seem to find what was requested. Correction, design wise. So here's a starter inspired by one of Yarnplayer'e earrings designs...
I admit it I'm cheating on my shuttles. I wind them up and then just set them aside. Then a few days or weeks later I pick them back up unwind them, then load back up with other thread. But I still don't use them. When I do this, it gives me a false sence of accomplishing some tatting. even though I don't actually make anything.
After being gone for a month or so..I've now managed to get back online. Between a broken laptop power cord and oh yeah... Miss Katalina was born on January 13, which is funny because we were married on a 13th and we had the pregnancy confirmed on a 13th. I had to be induced because she refused to come out. I guess it was too warm in there compared to where we are. Once the ball got rolling, it was one of the fastest labors I've experienced, I think it was 3 ...
The last ultrasound was a dissapointment. We didn't find out the sex of the baby, it's too big and positioned wrong. I still have placenta previa so it looks like it's going to be a C-section. After today's visit, the doc said they'll schedule the surgery date next Monday. It's looking like the week of the 27th this month. So in 2 weeks we'll have a new baby in the house. I still haven't gotten ANYTHING for it. Rushing, rushing. I just started my Xmas tatting, but it seems to be going ...
Lately I've gotta a few really good deals off Ebay. I log in today to see what's available on tatting and come across this. It's an instant camera, like a polaroid. It's pictures are small, business card/wallet sized. So here I am bidding on a camera I don't really need, but I want because sometimes you just don't feel like printing off your memory card. Now film is available locally, and it's pricey, about $1 per print, but I'm hooked on the novelty of it. Heck, I still ...
After reading up on Sherry going into labor, it reminded me I don't have too much longer to wait to have my own baby. I'm 32 weeks, so technically I have 2 months left or until the end of December. That's next month! And we still don't know if it's a boy or a girl . I will have one final ultrasound done in the begining of December to see if I will have to have the baby via C-section or if I'll be able to do it natural. Maybe then we'll find out the sex. Being so ...
Looking at my son watching T.V. I thought he looked a bit like Bruce Lee. I ran the thought of dressing him up like that by my husband and he just laughed at me. Well he certainly is hyper enough to be..jumping and kicking and running everywhere..lol..
I got almost all of my projects done for the fair, which starts this Tuesday. The only official tatting didn't get finished. I was on a roll working on my El Dorado doily, when I had to stop and take my son to the doctor. He fell and hurt himself being an active child and after 4 sets of X-rays, turns out he fractured his collarbone. So no way to meet that deadline, I had to comfort him because the only pain killer doctors recommend has been recalled. All others are too strong and can't be prescribed. ...
I have my 2 year old pushing on my legs and tugging my arms while the little cake in the oven is squirming and doing it's own pushing and tugging. Why are they both so hyper at the same time? I have six days to complete and prepare my entries for the fair. I ran out of white size 30, so I have to wait until Monday to do one entire doily and finish off a fan. The only thing I can work on are my old fashion playing cards, and these wouldn't take more than 2 hours from start to ...
Hormones are a horrible thing to swing on. I go from chipper to snipper in a blink of an eye. I really do feel bad for my family having to walk on egg-shells not knowing if it's safe to come near me. It's even worse when I watch T.V. I cry alot even during funny moments. Very fraustrating. So I began my fair tatting a few weeks back. I have a total of 8 entries. They're being listed under different catergories since spacing is limited. I am entering alot of the 'contests' just so I can put ...
Since that last post of the baby? Time flies but it seems like it drags too. Went to the doctor's on Monday and got the ultrasound results explained to me. It was a bit confusing at first until my doctor 'dummed it down' for me. I was under the impression I would be able to return to work after this visit. Nope not happening. Basically this is a miracle baby..his term not mine. The baby barely implanted itself before being flushed out of my body. What does this mean? The placenta (it's lifeline) ...
For those who don't read my regular Blogger.. I've been on bedrest for the past month roughly. This baby doesn't seem to want to behave like a normal baby. I've had ultrasounds pretty much every week to see what can be done. Nothing. Resting in bed is the only medicine that can be given at this stage. Anyways, four different ultrasounds and no pictures to bring home. At my last visit I had a different tech doing it and she was kind enough to give me a CD of the session. Allow me to ...
BIB...what is that? you may ask. Oh it's to keep the baby clean while you feed it right? Nope, try again. It stands for Bored In Bed. At least for me anyways. I had a quick check with the Doc today, the spotting has stopped. I have an ultrasound being scheduled for within the next two weeks. Who'd of thought summer would be a busy season for pregnant females. I would've thought spring..you know winter, cold, indoors, nothing to do..oh wait this is 2000ish not 1800ish..my bad, ...
Well it seems as though I have time on my hands. We hit a pot hole in this pregnancy. I began spotting a few days ago, but it stopped and my doctor just advised not being on my feet for too long. Today the spotting has returned, a bit heavier than before. I was placed on bedrest for a week. I just advised work that I will be out, not too big of a sacrifice there since they already cut my time down. I'm hoping it will stop on it's own again. No stress they said. I have a toddler and teenage daughter ...
