  1. Spiral Pattern Play

One of my albums is the photo of the cover of a book on tilings. http://www.intatters.com/attachment....9&d=1284361671 I'm committing to spending the next six months to working on and off on trying to work out a tatting for this double spiral. It may turn out to be a bust... but I'm intrigued by the challenge.

I need a long curvy triangle. I don't want to double each of the long sides; I'll start in one of the two centers, the first one is Ok. To do ...

  2. Stuff for new babies.

Ok, I've avoided this pretty much for 60 years and now I'm trapped.

A good friend has asked me to embellish some things she wants to get for her granddaughter, if she sends them to me first. Ruffles are good in this instance.
Ok I can find mini-tats and edgings and cute motifs. Not a problem.

Now for the tough one. A friend and much younger colleague who works for a charitable organization (read low salary) and is the breadwinner ...

  3. A Needle Tatter tries a Shuttle

Last night, I did it. I opened up that old box that was handed down to me and took out the metal shuttle. After reading all those descriptions, I fearlessly wound the thread around my left hand and swoop up, flip, first half stitch, dive, flip, second half stitch. Then I got out my magnifying glass to see if it really was a double stitch. Yes Ok, now for a second one....as...er..emmm what did I do? I froze. Time to go get the books and look it up. Now most of those instruction ...

  4. Which way to go? Caught up in indecision, or is it ADHD?

My biggest problem with needle tatting is threading the needle. How is that for a basic difficulty!
My nerve condition makes it almost impossible for me to thread the small needles without a needle threader. (I already have the lighted magnifying lamp.) I keep destroying the threaders... hate to count how many have lost their fine wire as I tug at the size 20 thread to get it through the size 7 needles.
Should I be using a bigger needle/smaller thread? or is there some other ...

  5. The trouble with Hearts is?

Kersti issued a challenge to provide her with a new image for the black and white photo of a heart. Soo, I clicked on the link and found the pattern in German. The German was not the problem, the floating rings were not the problem, the ring at the bottom was a BIG problem. Help! I replaced the pair of rings at the bottom with a single super size ring, but I hate being defeated. All suggestions welcome, but those that accommodate my needle only handicap will be much appreciated. ...
