Last night, I did it. I opened up that old box that was handed down to me and took out the metal shuttle. After reading all those descriptions, I fearlessly wound the thread around my left hand and swoop up, flip, first half stitch, dive, flip, second half stitch. My biggest problem with needle tatting is threading the needle. How is that for a basic difficulty! My nerve condition makes it almost impossible for me to thread the small needles without a needle threader. (I already have the lighted magnifying lamp.) I keep destroying the threaders... hate to count how many have lost their fine wire as I tug at the size 20 thread to get it through the size 7 needles. Should I be using a bigger needle/smaller thread? or is there some other ...
Kersti issued a challenge to provide her with a new image for the black and white photo of a heart. Soo, I clicked on the link and found the pattern in German. The German was not the problem, the floating rings were not the problem, the ring at the bottom was a BIG problem. Help! I replaced the pair of rings at the bottom with a single super size ring, but I hate being defeated.
