  2. April tatting giveaway in my blog!

One of the great things about “tat-land” is how generous it is. I have been the grateful, happy recepient of several giveaways, (and I do enter almost every one I see!) and it is now time to give something back! It is a humble little “this-and-that rainbow” prize, with bling, tool, thread and lace!

Una de las cosas especiales del mundo virtual del frivolité es la generosidad. Estoy ...

  3. Learn something new each day! ~ ¡Cada día se aprende algo nuevo!

I had looked at discussions of people learning cluny leaves for quite a while. And last Monday I just decided to give them a try - I got some no. 5 cotton perlé, and followed the instructions linked - after some tries, I was going!

No pattern, just a long succession of clunies and split rings - I found adding the split rings helped me a lot - so the new cluny did not "mix" with the one before. ...

My chain tension is not really consistent yet, but I am really pleased with the result anyway . I loaded just enough thread into two shuttles and tatted them normally - I could not find my flow in direct tatting . I unwound the working shuttle to pass the chain through the previous SSSR and then tied it again ...

  5. June Giveaway (in September!) ~ Regalo de Junio (¡en Septiembre!)

The intatters forum had a giveaway last (Northern) summer, with a draw among those who participated a lot. I was one of them , and lucky to win a prize! I was starting to worry that it might have got lost in the mail, but here it is!

En el foro intatters hubo un sortea de regalos entreo los que más participaron en el mes de Junio. Yo fui uno de ellos , y tuve mucha suerte y gané un premio! Y aunque ya me temía que se hubiera perdido en el correo, acá está! ...

  6. Celtic Curly Wreath

A while back, Chari asked for help with this pattern at the intatters forum. Frakira rose to the challenge and made a very clear step-by-step photo tutorial.

I made my piece after looking at the tutorial, but not following it. I am really pleased with the result, and have grand plans for a second one!

  7. Stitch Markers for knitting ~ Marcadores de puntos para tejer

I first saw this in a ravelry project when I was starting to learn. They are other super fun and practical thing to tatt! There is no pattern: just a ring (tatting over the first tail when starting), a single shuttle split ring, and a last single shuttle split ring to hide the last end. Lots of different effects by changing number, placement and length of picots in this last ring, or adding beads to it. The Daisy ones are only slightly more elaborate, I may write up the pattern sometime.

  8. Covered rings ~ Anillos cubiertos

It is great to browse the many instructive, inspiring tatting blogs. It was thus that I found tatting covered plastic rings, and great, clear instructions on how to do them! Thank you Jon Yusoff!

  9. Bookmarks ~ Señaladores

When I was learning to tatt, I read some advice: Practice doing a lot of bookmarks! These are just some of the ones I have made since then. They are fun to do, they make great personal gifts, they can be ready quite soon, and the repeating patterns give a chance to get into a rhythm.

Cuando estaba aprendiendo frivolité, leí una recomendación: Practicar mucho haciendo señaladores. Acá muestro sólo algunos de los que he hecho desde entonces. Es divertido hacerlos, son regalos ...
