I want to do the pattern but the darn * is confusing me... need some instruction.

Not sure what possessed me to say "Two rings a day." Honestly, I think I had a brain gremlin! So as it stands I have completed the fourth row and done two of the half circles. I'm going to have to take lots of good close-up pictures and put it together as a PDF or something for those who want the awesome tablecloth without the brain-melting of translating that from old to modern tatting language. I went to the West Midlands Tat Day recently and purchased a ball of DMC 80 in colourway 67 and also a white one. I made this little doily with the new threads and I have deliberately not swapped shuttles so that you can see the split chains and split rings I have used to climb out of each row. By doing split chains and rings, this doily was achieved in one go, so only one lot of hiding ends

Hi. I came to the site today to upload my most recent finished item to my album here and guess what I found. A completely empty album. What a load of ....

I didn't delete them. In fact the album had the same pictures in it for several days and no problems. I guess all the comments and info about thread I used etc is gone now.

Finally ! This is the 6th attempt at this pattern,
I have messed it up every time. Either connecting the wrong picots or not connecting any, or losing my temper and chucking it in the bin lol. But I decided to try one more time with some new thread I got on Saturday. I've only ever used lizbeth, mainly 20, but I wanted something thicker. Shops that sell stuff like that are a bit thin on the ground in my area, I usually buy online. But I managed to find this ...

I had some pearle 12 left on my shuttles from making my corsage and so used up the thread with this doily. It didn't flow as well as some of my designs, therefore I had a lot of wasted thread, however, I think the end result was worth it!

Okay, I realize I only got 1 2/3rds circles done yesterday. But today is laundry day. I'm hoping to have a few free minutes to finish up the fourth ring pattern and get myself back on track. My goal is to do at least two rings a day. This is because with 460 motifs, it would take me almost a year and a half to finish otherwise. So Here I go, soldiering on.

I WILL complete this.

Oh, and I have two projects promised as is. :)

I just learned how yo do a split chain.I'm so proud of myself !

I've made this arrangement to wear on Saturday to the West Midlands Tatting Day at Amblecote, Stourbridge (UK). I shall be wearing cream trousers with a red and cream top and red blouse. The last time I wore a corsage to this event, a couple of years ago, I ended up giving it away to another tatter who was starting up her own group. I wonder where this one will end up!
