I found treasures in the Sunday's market here in the town I live. I must share with you my tatting friends. This fabulous tatted carpet founded in the market. There was a lady who have this carpet and other very old things. I'm took this carpet and the other one in crochet . The lady who sold this, told me that her's grandmother tatted it for about 40 years ago. I paid only 10 swedish crowns about 1 Euro, 1.5 dolar. Really fabulous.
I first saw this in a ravelry project when I was starting to learn. They are other super fun and practical thing to tatt! There is no pattern: just a ring (tatting over the first tail when starting), a single shuttle split ring, and a last single shuttle split ring to hide the last end. Lots of different effects by changing number, placement and length of picots in this last ring, or adding beads to it. The Daisy ones are only slightly more elaborate, I may write up the pattern sometime.

Hormones are a horrible thing to swing on. I go from chipper to snipper in a blink of an eye. I really do feel bad for my family having to walk on egg-shells not knowing if it's safe to come near me. It's even worse when I watch T.V. I cry alot even during funny moments. Very fraustrating.
So I began my fair tatting a few weeks back. I have a total of 8 entries. They're being listed under different catergories since spacing is limited. I am entering alot of the 'contests' just so I can put
First off, I got my two books in the mail yesterday. Rebecca Jones' The complete book of tatting and Janet Carrol's Elegant tatting patterns. I am so excited to really get started with my tatting now.
And yes, I finally finished my first piece! It isn't perfect by any means, but it's mine and it's finished! I was going to post a picture of it, but discovered my camera battery is dead so I will get that posted after a while. (The piece I did was the flower pendant that TotusMel
Our daughter got married on August 7. A very happy day for all of us!!
I made some tatted decorations and gifts for the guests.
The hearts was made with hand dyed thread that I got in the Christmas exchange from Australia.
Very suitable for the occation.
The gifts were beaded hearts ment to be used as bookmarks. I made all of this needle tatting.
The past 3 days has been really hot, hotter than what I am used to anyways. Since I scrapped the doily, I have restarted on it. I made the 10 rings in the middle and I wanted to change color for the rest of the doily so now it is waiting till I can wind the other color I have in mind on to a bobbin/ shuttle.
For exercise, I worked on an edging from the book by Gun Blomqvist and Elwy Persson called Ingeborg. The outcome is not bad. I wondered how does one stop tatting the edging to
After the rain the sun it's comming, and after two days I have tatted a cuple of things I'm very proud .
I began to tatted a pattern from a russian bok, it was a little one round motif. But when I finished the first round, I saw it wasn't the same figur like the pattern, at this time I decided to continue but in my own way and the result I will show you here. I don't now if I do wrong when I change the motif/pattern. But it's better for me to continue than to undo the work .
I haven't done any tatting in the past couple days because I just haven't. But then again I haven't done much of anything. I don't know, just been feeling lazy I guess. My boyfriend will be going out of state for about 10 days, so I'll have time to do it then.
Still waiting on my book from Amazon. I am hoping it'll come this week. (It's The Complete Book of Tatting: Everything You Wanted to Know but Couldn't Find Out About Shuttle Lace by Rebecca Jones in case you
Ok I know I have been gone for a bit... Kids started school back and I have been busy trying to sell AVON. And that isnt working out very well for me just yet but I hope to make something soon!
Other then that my crafting has been non-existent I just have not been feeling "crafty" lately. I havent tatted a thing in at least a month, I guess since my friend who wanted the 60 bookmarks said to take my time on them, I really am taking my time
So last night I tried shuttle tatting, and had no more luck with that than the needle tatting. The part I really didn't understand was the part about loosening the tension on the left had to transfer the thread properly. I'll have to keep working on that. I was using the Learn to Tat book and DVD by Janette Baker to start, and found it very easy to follow if only my left hand would ease up on that tension.
I have the book The Complete Book of Tatting: Everything You
I was in the tatting meeting here in the south of Scania. Here some pictures from today's meeting. We were many of the members and from 10 o'clock, in the morning until 15.00 o'clock in the afternoon we were in one of the Library's room. We pay about 12 Euros when we arrived and this include the breakfast, lunch and the coffe before we leave. We get also 4 pages with patterns and instruccions for the used techniques in those patterns.
Today, I took stock of my chrysanthemum doily tatting. I noticed that I have majorly messed it up I cannot undo it because so much of tatting was done before my discovery, I decide to toss the tatting and start from the beginning. Hopefully I can complete this run without much error.
Oh well, practice makes a person improve right!
we are off to Tulsa this morning. I am inspired by all of you that can tat in the car and am givig it another try. Five hours just sitting is too long not to tat. I will also take my knitting, I have to finish a layette set for a baby shower next week. Thanks to all that answered my forum question "tatting in the car' and the new one 'tatting while touring'. Great ideas. This site is great! We'll see how much I'll get done and post some pictures of my trip. We are going to visit grandchildren
Today my Tulip, from Linda Davies's pattern is finished.... I love to tatting flowers and this is my second flower I have done. This tulip I'm thinking to put it some tatted leaves in the same way I tatted the Lili before.
This weekend it's a music festival in town and I'll be there for a while, maybe my tatting must wait for a cuple of days .
I send my best wishes to my tatting friends and all tatting people who are here
