I haven't posted in quite a while. Lots of hangups along the way. I saw a picture of a bookmark with read hearts down the center over on the e-tatters page. Now, I'm looking for the pattern. Does anyone know where that pattern is/came from? It only shows a section of it, but I'd like to see the whole thing. Maybe I could then just figure it out on my own.
I have been recently doing a few things using buttons, and now I'm a bit hooked! I will post some pictures of my finished pieces.
This is the bookmark I'm talking about. I already have the heart buttons!
I have the tool for measuring, but with this many...I'd go mad! Made with Lizbeth size 20 thread No. 631 called Country Purple Lt. I don't care for how the amount of stitches are posted in this book and all the sections of the pattern aren't covered. I love the patterns otherwise though.... It has a row of crochet around the outside to finish it off. Next time I will make the picots a bit smaller. The pattern calls for 4 mm which in my book is only .16 of an inch....NO WAY! They don't look that small in the book...
I just love the book, but am having a problem with some of the patterns. The one I'm working on now has a spiral cord with a picot in it. OK, I've been doing it, but am having a devil of a time getting them to spiral for me after I do the picot in the middle. Any suggestions...??? If anyone has the book, I'm doing Egg No. 8 and I just don't get the count in there....some of the areas look smaller, but I don't see a lower number for the spirals. I guess unless you have the book, you won't have any idea what I'm talking about....! I hope someone does....
I have two more of my eggs completed....the one of the left I did while baby sitting and although the girls loved watching, I was also distracted a bit and my picots are different sizes. I will have to make this one over again. Both of these were done using Lizbeth thread. The first one I used No. 129 which is called Purple Splendor. The second one is bright white with tiny pastel lavender beads. I haven't used beads in many years, but I sure like them on here.
The first one I did using 'Opera' thread, but after trying to correct a couple of mistakes and found the results not to good I made it over again. The second one I used 'Manuela' thread size 20 in #012. Loved it! I have never tatted anything before joining chains like this is the center, so decided to give it a try. Not bad at all. The pattern is from Be-Stitched and very delightful to make. :emoji-E030:
It is a bookmark designed by grrlshapedthing called 'Supermodel Bookmark'. She is here in InTatters. I did as she suggested and repeated two parts to make it longer. I finished it off with a braid type weave that I use for my bookmarks in Bobbin Lace. I like it...! I used Lizbeth thread size 20 and #131 called Vineyard Harvest.
I had noticed that I made an error in the fist bookmark, so I made it over. I also enclosed a closeup of the finished tail. (I had problems with the first blog about this bookmark, so I completely deleted it and started over. Live and learn!)

Because of so much happening in my life for a couple of years now, I have been away from my favorite hobbies. The time has now come to get my act together again. Last night I finished my first tatted piece in quite a while. It is #24 in my Motif Challenge. It was done using size 20 Lizbeth thread, #117 called Country Side. It was a free pattern designed by Susan Fuller. I had to do redo it three times before my fingers starting working correctly. I find the pattern towards the end a bit tricky, but now that I've done it once I'm sure it will be easier next time.
