Handy Hands is SO Handy!

Rate this Entry
I am so excited. I finally ordered my thread for the shower curtain I'm making from Handy Hands. I wanted the thread to match the new paint color and it can be hard to trust the trueness of the colors on screen or in printed catalogs so I asked if I could send them a paint sample. They were happy to help. I just put my order in and I was right. The color in the catalog that I thought was closest wasn't the right color and I would have never chosen the colors they suggested. I'm so glad they were so friendly and willing to help with this. I want this shower curtain to look like it was made for the room! I also bought some variegated colors to play with since the choices of thread here in town are slim. I can't wait to get my order. Oh, and since I got the newsletter I get free shipping.......from now on. KEWL BEANS!

they have a beautiful selection of threads I just bought myself some items and have no idea what they will become but some of the colors "spoke to me"...good luck on the shower curtain, and don't worry, even if the color had been off by a shade or two people would still know it was made for the room.

That have so many great colors!! I couldn't believe it when I got my first catalog. I drooled over it for days and days. When I had her on the phone I would say, "oh, and I need one of this one............ oh and one of this one............" I should have ordered all of them LOL The Joanns here only carries a very limited selection of some of the variegated colors of Lizabeth in size 20 and a few colors of solid like pink and white. Then they have the standard balls of size 10 (I think they carry the Royale brand) in solid colors. Walmart has some but still just solid colors. I was getting so desperate I was thinking about dying some with Koolade. I'm so happy I'll be getting some nice colors in the mail soon!

A shower curtain? are you making just the trim across the top or are you doing a whole curtain? How long will it take you? I can't wait to see it!

Oh no, just the trim LOL It would take me forever to make a full shower curtain but wouldn't it be pretty??? I'm making this one out of crushed voile in white and I'm going to tat and edging for it to match the blue color I painted the bathroom. I am having a hard time deciding on the edging to do it in now. I thought I had decided but now I'm not so sure. I haven't decided on the length yet. I'll probably make it go down to 3/4 of the tub. I'm a visual person though so I was going to pin it and then hang it up and decide. I'm going to make the shower hooks too because I can't find any I like. They wont be hooks though. I've got something else in mind.
