Okay, that's a heck of a lot of win! I wonder if, on your fill-in addition those are split rings or regular rings? Very Very cool. (I know what I'm making my Whovian niece for next Christmas!)

The additional rings are floating rings, just repeats of pattern for the middle of the bottom row. I added them my print out of Anne's diagram to keep track of them. I was also trying to think of a way to include a white floating ring in the bottom left 'window pane', to be like to the paper/notice on the TARDIS...but that was one step too far for my over tatted brain. I had a thought that the 'turkish tatting' could be used, but have no idea how to incorporate it as I have only watched youtubes on how to do them, not actually tried it myself yet.

Lol, you went to the same place I did with that! At this point, I'd like to suggest the crafter's motto: if you can't do it, fake it! A bit of glued felt or fabric could do the trick, at least until you can figure out the rings.

Thanks Linda, I haven't even blocked it, Hubby took it straight away for his book.

I'm still working on a tatted Dalek and a bobbin lace sonic screwdriver. There is a way to use more than 2 shuttles so that you can use multiple colors of thread. I've not learnd that yet, but there is a man in my lace group that has done up to 9 shuttles for a piece. Wish I could find a book with the advanced techniques in it.

My DH actualy got me a sonic screwdriver for christmas (doubles as a pen) which my 3 year old has made off with. Oh, and a remote control "battle Dalek" that he found "fights" the TV remote...that is the TV remote wavelength sets of the battle mode and will be recorded as damage in the "fight" *ROFL*

There's a pattern I found in a book, though for the life of me, I can't remember, but it had a shuttle tatted edging that looked just like a row of daleks! I'll see if I can't track down the book. I'm pretty sure it's either Easy Tatting or Practical Tatting but I'd lay odds on the latter. I'll take a trip down to the library this week to see if I can't find the exact one.

Antiquarian, So many Dr Who items, so little time :D I recently bought Sherry Pences' 'branching encapsulation' that uses multiple shuttles and colours...haven't had a chance to try it yet but it is very exciting to read. That may have the answer to the white floating ring.

Wodentoad, if you can track it down, please let me know the name of the book, I would love to have a 'dalek' hanky! LOL
