I've been trying to find a tutorial on how to make pointed rings, but all I can find is pointed chains. Since you use two shuttles in the chain and only one shuttle for a normal ring, I cannot see how to use that technique. Do any of you know how to make pointed rings, is it even possible, with just one shuttle? Are there any tutorials out there that I missed?

I'm working on a steampunk costume for a convention in the near future. I'd like to have some hand tattted elements for the costume. A friend of mine told me about the mignonette stitch, which I would like to do for a veil. I know how to do the stitch in the round in a sort of extended doily action, but I'd like to make it in a panel that I could just sew to the inside of a hat or to the top of a hair band. Any ideas? I don't really want it to cover my whole head.

Thanks in advanced :D
