    Default For Aussie tatters

    Hi fellow Aussie tatters!
I found a shop in Castlemaine yesterday that are selling Finca in 8 and 12. Nice thread to work with in a HUGE variety of colors. She also had DMC 80 and some EdMar threads. Plus others I cannot remember the name of sorry.
Until Nov 20 - they are all half price which means the Finca and DMC are $2 a ball and the EdMar is $1.60.
She will happily do mail order.

No gain form this - just thought the prices were great and she was really god to deal with.

    Sounds great.

I went to Sovereign needlecraft in Ballarat yesterday and they also had Finca and DMC. Of course, I just had to buy a tatting shuttle (Pony, with hook) and some thread to make my trip worthwhile.

Of course - as we all do LOL that was the whole purpose of driving for nearly 4 hours yesterday( 2 there 2 back) - look for shuttles (nope none there) and buy thread!!!!! (phew luckily there WAS something worthwhile !!)
Same as driving all the way to Barooga in NSW just to spend an afternoon tatting with a friend up there LOL
But I am not an addict......

Do Sovereign have anything worth travelling for??

Oh, have you bought new threads again, Liyarra?? LOL

Ballarat was a nice place to visit but don't go there on Mondays if you want an icecream.

I love Sovereign needlecraft, it's the closest place to go for wonderful thread and embroidery supplies. There is also another craft shop in Ballarat with other threads (they sold the last tatting shuttle the morning I was there).

If you do go, there are a couple of nice cafes which were on Coxy's big break last weekend which look like a great place to have a feed or coffee.
    regards, Liz
