    Tat Tatting as "finding"

I recently saw in the photo albums here some small stones set in a tatted "finding". (but now I can't find them, or I would ask that tatter directly)

I want to recreate something similar for coasters, using a motif under a round glass, and I want to hold the motif to the glass with more tatting.

Can someone point me to those pics? Or others you think I may find useful?

I would appreciate any help or tips from people how have done something like that. I'll share my progress and tries!

    soyloquesoy,

Why not try asking Kersti? I'm sure she'd know who's work it was. I know the ones you are talking about. But I can't find them for you either. They was really neat too. Anyhow good luck. But that's just a thought on how to find out faster. Unless the person reads this & contacts you. Wish I could be of more help.
    Blessings,
    Little Bell

    soyloquesoy,
You might need to talk to victats, she's a member on here. I have a feeling that she's who's lovely work it is we was looking at. If not she might know who to point you to. Can't hurt to ask her.
    Blessings,

Thanks for your suggestions Little Bell.

victats doesn't seem to be our gal - she does not have any albums :(

I am waiting to get the glass circles (tomorrow!) to start trying - I know I'll have fun with this even if I don't get expert advice!

Hello, soyloquesoy (it means I am that I am?),
I try to help you, but I'm not sure if I can. Any concrete questions?
I uploaded a couple of new photos, e.g. this one: http://www.intatters.com/attachment....achmentid=3936, but I think you want to make something else. If I'm right you want some tatting inside AND outside of a glass circle. Something like this? http://www.tat-ology.com/2009/10/cia...s-for-now.html or this? http://krystledawnetats.blogspot.com...een-up-to.html
WOW, that's so exciting! I'm very pleased that you found my works interesting. I saw your photos, your tatting is charming. I like them. I will give your butterfly a try. And I can't wait for the photos about the progress of this glass circle-project!

    (bright tatter, LOL...)

    Hi Moni!

Yes, my user name means "I am what I am" in Spanish. I really like the sound and idea of it!

My original inspiration was that post of fox's, but I can't buy the acrylic coasters here. I also considered using resin, but I found it was rather expensive and was worried it might ruin the thread - now that I know someone else in the world has done it successfully I may give that a try one day...

I don't know what the back of this: http://www.intatters.com/album.php?a...achmentid=3343 looks like, but what I have in mind is the border of the circle looking like this on the front. And then in the back there will be a motive sort of like fox's.

My question would be, what do you do in the back? How do you make sure it is snug?

    Thanks a lot Dal!
So, do just those two rings of rings hold the stone safely enough to wear?
I will try to do just that.

By the way, I love your Lithuanian forum, it's a pity I can't understand almost anything!

    cheers!
