Has anyone tatted with Babylo thread??
Wondering what it is like? What would you compare it to?

Come over to the dark side.....we have chocolate...........
Well, it's DMC and they are relable, but it's 3 ply which automatically takes it down a notch for me. Cebelia is from DMC and also 3 ply and it is just too soft for my taste.
I've tatted with Babylo 30 and found it lovely to work with; the larger sizes don't seem to be as firm. It's economical, and comes in great colours!
I just ordered some the other day. It will be interesting to se how it tats.
Dragons are friendly and nice - when viewed at a distance!
Now I have tested vareigated Babylo at a couple of motifs, and I find it is nice to use. The colourshift (atleast for the thread I used) is quick enough to get two dark and two bright areas on a 5-5-5-5 ring. It is softer than DMC Cordonnet but firmer than DMC Perle. I have a pattern I want to use for a scarf, and I am considering using Babylo for that.
I am enclosing the photo of one of the motifs, the Dragon Wing Doily. The other motif, the dragon from where the wing comes from, will not be presented yet.

Completely overlooked the thread... I love to tat with Babylo - actually I prefer it to many 6-ply-threads since it tats up just fine without getting splicey or uneven, and the tatted lace ist just the tad softer than with other threads which is great for things like doilies.
Hi Anne, thank you for posting the photo of the pretty mat, i have only bought solid colours ( i hadn't seen the variegated threads) . As it tats up softer, than say Lisbeth?, I find it more suited to some designs.
*scribbling down "babylo thread" in her purse scribble book* i think i must add some of that to my stash :)
Now I have to figure out where to get Babylo thread...
oh yeah; i probably should've asked that too :)
