I heard about this product, called Thread Heaven, here on Intatters, as an alternative to beeswax (my recommendation) for taming snarling threads.
I found it at a quilt store the other day and purchased some: it is GREAT and doesn't muddy up white thread -- I was practicing some Mediterranean Lace (a subset of oya -- see that thread for more), size 50 thread, and WOW: I got much more done after using it, and my work looked much better. I can't detect any residue like with beeswax, either.
So, I'd have no problems using this product to tame uncooperative tatting threads either.

Shannon, I suggest that if you notice no difference in your thread, then it does not need Thread Heaven right now. It's meant to be used for problem thread, not the good stuff.
