Don't you all just love this place?? Hey, this baby better be our usual girl. This time, so far anyway, I am just assuming. His papa might not like to see his first son in a frilly bonnet. Well, right now great-grandma is hoping for another girl!! The first got a hand done quilt. I'm planning on a tatted set for #2!! (If you don't change projects with everyone, those further down the line are sure what ggma is planning.)
Actually my friend decided not to know what sex the baby would be before the birth. I decided that if it was a boy, I would buy a usual baby bonnet in blue to put under the lace to make it a bit more boy'ish, and use the strings from that to tie with instead of silk ribbons. Like this one:

Maybe I have a very young mother.

That reminds me of my husbands grandmother: When our son was born she were still in her 60'ies. I never saw her with a more victorious smile than when she once told me how she had silenced all her co-workers bragging about grandchildren with a 'hah! but I have a GREAT grandson.'

Two snowflakes I designed for the class of Sharon Briggs. She gave us the first row and we had to make the second row, using rings and chains. Maybe it's not allowed to use two shuttles, but I did. Negative space was also important. I wait what comments the people of the class are giving. We'll see.

The praise should go to the one who made the pattern. It wasn't that hard - no advanced techniques or anything.
    It's from this book:

You made a very nice design, I think. I love how you made 2 so different designs with the same motif in the center.

That is just breath-taking! Where is the pattern from?

I just found the rest of the thread, is the bonnet from The Tatters Treasure Chest? (I am still learning how to navigate this site)

I love Christmas - it forces us to finish up things that have languished all year. I finally finished the third and possibly last beaded purse. This one is a surprise for my sister Kim. It was quite an ordeal - since I was not able to use the handle and closure I wanted and had to redo the finish work a couple of times. So - it looks a lot like the other two purses - except I used a plum satin lining.

I have included a picture of the three of them together
