I've been buying mine at Hobby Lobby. Do you have one near you? I don't know about online. The ones I've been getting only say Clover, they don't say Susan Bates anywhere, but they are the same thing, only nicer. Happy shopping!

    Edna:

Here's some suggestions: not sure they will help or not.

I see you are in Qatar: I'm in US. Here the Clover and Susan Bates tatting shuttles are two different shuttles. You say "Post" shuttle: the clover shuttles (my favorites BTW) have posts to wrap the thread around. The Susan Bates shuttles have bobbins.

    One thought: contact the manufacturers:

Clover is a Japanese company, but I can't find their tatting shuttles on their company website; however, they do have a company contact for Asia/Oceania customers:
    http://world.cloverhobby.jp/company/ourcompany.html

Susan Bates is owned by Coats and Clark: here is their website, and if you search for tatting shuttles, you will get a web page with pictures of the shuttles and a store locator:
    http://www.coatsandclark.com/

In the US I have purchased both from Lacis (www.lacis.com) and Handy Hands (www.hhtatting.com) in the US, and have been very happy with both of them. You can search for tatting shuttles and see a wide variety. I do not know if they can ship to your location, or what the cost might be.

Caveat: in the 1970's I learned to tat while in South Africa; I bought one shuttle, a Milward, and I loved it. However, I could NEVER find one like it in the US, and I looked for years. I was advised that Milward now was the Aero shuttle: I bought some by mail order here in US and found out they weren't even close. Sales/marketing/branding around the world varies and I wasn't able to sort it out. I can't be sure what shuttle you are talking about, either.

    Best of luck!

    Hi Edna,

I did a search for Clover shuttles and found them at this link: http://www.createforless.com/Clover+...utm_medium=cse

These are what I buy from Hobby Lobby. I have some Susan Bates that I think are what you are talking about. I've had them for probably more than 10 years and I assumed they were no longer available. They are small and cream colored with a post. These Clover shuttles are exactly the same except (at least compared to the Susan Bates I have) the thread winds much smoother and the tips are pointier and are much more useful for pulling thread through a picot to join and for picking out mistakes. These are my favorites. I like having two different colors because then I can easily tell Shuttle 1 from Shuttle 2. I hope you find this helpful.

I used to use only Susan Bates shuttles and then was introduced to the Clover shuttle. The Clover shuttle is much nicer for the reasons stated by dilaw above but also because the Clover shuttle never loses it's pointiness. I found the Susan Bates shuttles end became less and less pointy after lots of use. The Clover does not. I don't know why but the Clover is easier to wind too.

    Edna,

The Susan Bates in the link you posted are the same as the ones I have. I have attached a couple of pictures comparing the Clover to the Susan Bates. I really believe if you got the Clover you would be very happy. The Susan Bates were my favorites until I tried the Clover.
