I am eager to learn bucks point lace. I am in need of some clarification.
in "An Introduction to Bucks Point lace" the bucks point ground....

am i supposed to work back and forth in rows? or is is work from right to left, right to left?

also in general, what is the best type of graph paper to make bucks point patterns on?

    Shannon,
Bucks point is worked from right to left, downhill. Begin at the leftmost pin of the ground. The book you are using is quite good. Work through the first 2 or 3 patterns for at least a coulple of repeats. All your questions will be answered. But don't hesitate to ask more questions here, too!

While Bucks can be worked at a 60 degree angle, that is usally only used in the round when making a hexagonal mat, otherwise you couldn't make well defined corners. Bucks yardage (edgings) is usually worked from 52 - 56 degrees. The higher the number of degrees, the closer to hexagonal it becomes.
