I guess not, as the current picture in this one is the one I made last year. So go ahead with the one you want - in my case, I was making the thread spaces too long, and when I saw it was cupping, I tried to correct the wrong way. (making them longer instead of shorter)

I don't always do well, as you can see in my piece from last year here: http://www.intatters.com/showthread....ot-flat-circle ;)
I love the cupped one. Just use it in a 3D way, like a flower. It is just more abstract, but just as lovely.

Thanks Elfiona! I agree! It now resides in a doll house, as a sort of basket ;)

I was thinking of trying to add to the Knots Challenge. I see two patterns that I think I can tat up, but I can't find the patterns. Would someone know where to find the instructions? One I might even be able to figure out from the picture, but I don't think I can do that with the other one. These are the two patterns I'm looking at:
    1) Edging No 1 from the Lily No 70 Book, Doilies & Edgings to Tat & Crochet.
    2) Edging No 16 from the Novelty Tatting & Maltese Crochet Book No 6.

I have one, a very early one from January when I first took up the shuttle that came out cupped. I am going to stiffen it up and make it into a small potpourri basket. A very small one, but I think it will be cute. I'm also thinking of lacing a ribbon around the edge and tying a bow on it.

If you click on "read more" you will find the scan of the original pattern extracted from the pages I sent to Kersti, and an enlargement of the picture. It was very tiny print and much yellowed. Copyright has expired on this book. I don't have a personal website or I would have posted it there.

Edit: The second pattern is also on Knots via a link to Teri D's website. Again, click on READ MORE. At the bottom of the description there are three icons. I found the pattern on the middle icon. It goes directly to a full scan of the entire book, which you can download, or just skim through to the edging, several pages in.

Thank you, Judy. I found both patterns. Now to get busy with my samples.

I found this one http://www.intatters.com/knots/2010/01/frivolite-herz/ That I really liked, and even though I couldn't read the Swiss pattern I followed the numbers and finished it :)Frivolite-Herz (heart).jpg
