Photos 2nd project from Karey Solomon's class

This is the second project from the Great Lakes Lace Group Inc Spring Fling. I took class with Karey Solomon and this pattern is called Three Button Bookmark. The thread is hand dyed by Karey. During class I was calling it Medieval Colors but now I think it looks more like Grapevine. After photographing it I found a mistake I made in the pattern the sides don't match; can you find it? I appologize to Karey, I would have liked to have made this perfect to showcase her design.

At the time I started this pattern I had been tatting different techniques for a couple days and was brain fried with learning. I thought this would be somewhat less of a challenge but I was wrong. The bookmark starts at the bottom and works up one side making the entire daisy like flower between the buttons before progressing to the next button. You have to read the directions CAREFULLY, many mistakes were made by us students by assuming we knew what to do next at this daisy stage.

Love the pattern and a big Thank You to Karey for coming to Michigan to teach.

It is still lovely even with a little mistake. I always feel mistakes just make the item more special. I love the thread color it is just so pretty.
