Default New ways to use tatting

This thread is intended to be a place to share ideas and inspiration of new ways to use tatting.
I'll start it off with one I thought of at the hair salon the other day. They offered to add a "feather extension." Their samples included not only feathers, but slim braids. So, how about a tatted extension... a string of split rings maybe ? Anybody familiar with how the extensions are added?

I haven't got a clue on that one but I'm currently tatting up a trellis for my peas to climb. I'm using this cord stuff that I think was for macramé. It's so huge I have to use my big toe to help me make rings LOL

I tatted a guardian angel for my dad who's in the hospital. Now it's hanging on the bar over his bed, so they can keep an eye on each other. I forgot to take a pic, but it's a bit similar to the get well soon butterfly I once made for my mom at http://shirleysimages.blogspot.com/2010/06/butterfly-get-well-soon-vlinder-wordt.html , it's something else as another card or another flower arrangement, and it's another use for crafting, and the butterfly is still hanging in their living room, hopefully the tatted angel doesn't have to stay long in the hospital, and it would be home soon, along with my dad :-)

I have bits of tatting decorating my computer tower and a cabinet near my desk. I just added dots of Alene's Tack-it Over and Over on the back side of the tatting, then when dry placed it where I wanted it. It comes down real easy and doesn't leave any residue....this makes it easy to rearrange them if I want.

I want to make a few brooches for my mother and her friends at the retirement/nursing center but I am wondering how is the best way to attach pin back.....I purchased stick pins with a ring at the top and have made one by tatting the item and then using the tatting thread to attach to the pen but I am not sure I like the way it seems to lay. I don't like to see the pin so this seemed like the way to go.....any ideas.

I don't have many ideas, but am eager waiting to read the ones you get :D

The only way I have attached tatting to pins was simply gluing, which is not my favourite way, but was the only I could think of...

I have used tatting several times to decorate purses with a lacy closure--like a frog close made out of large rings that fit over beads sewn to the purse.

I have made some adorable hair clips with tatted buttlurflies and flowers. I tatted the items and my sister sewed them to a piece of ribbon that had been glued to an alligator clip. I get lots of people wanting to buy them.

For the Bridesmaids.jpgScannedImage-4.jpgI tatted the 3-D rose to both a bobbie pin for bridesmaids and on the metal hairclips tatting directly on the little hole on the end!
