What a beautiful pattern! Simple and elegant!

I had an inspiration based on the numbers you put inside the rings on the second photo: I mistook them for BEADS! (old eyes, computer screen set to dim)

I plan to try your pattern shortly, with beads on the ID (inside diameter) of the rings.

The method I use for this is in the category of "afterthought" beading: you don't string them first, you hook them in as you go.

I do this by picking a bead size similar to the opening inside the ring; when I've tatted halfway around the ring I hook a bead with a small crochet hook, pull a loop of the ball thread (the thread that makes the double stitches around the core/shuttle thread on a chain) next to the bottom of the ring through the bead, and then run the shuttle through this loop to incorporate the bead. I complete the ring and close it and snug the bead into place to the right side of the tatting BEFORE commencing with the following chain.

    Thank you!

Nicely done, Snowflake. Thank you for sharing your patterns.

If think BlueDode's method of incorporating beads is what Jane Eborall has on her site.

I had to think awhile about how the bead would be added, but it does seem that it is similar to the Beaded Center Split Ring by Tonya Smith, only a normal ring instead of a split ring. Anyway, they are beautiful cross patterns!
