Nanduti and its differences from Teneriffe

Great Find! Got it for under $3 US at a thrift shop (opportunity shop).
Nanduti from Paraguay differs from Teneriffe in the palm shaped scallops at the edge, shaped sections to connect the major round motifs instead of smaller round motifs and areas of needle worked grounds

I have a book on Teneriffe but I've never seen any Nanduti or known of differences, very interesting.

Ok, I'm starting to learn the terms for bobbin lace!. Bought a kit, and an introductory book. Its still in second place to tatting since its REALLY not transportable.

Update: Well, I didn't do much with the kit. Its still sitting there, but, while reading miscellaneous articles on lace and lace making in those Australian newspapers, I found one on Paraguayan "Spider Lace". Hm, what do I know... nothing? ... time to google... which takes me to DRUM ROLLLLLL! Ñandutí. I tracked down a couple of websites, and some photos of Ñandutí. I decided to come back to IT and see if there was anything here, and found this thread. So, if you'd like to explore the same trail, try these links to see some more Ñandutí and appreciate what a real bargain PattyD got! And yes, one of the same links took me back to Australia where I started the quest... the Powerhouse Museum is in Australia, same place that has a collection of tatting designer Norma Benporath's materials.
