Default My gift to knitters-my 1st pattern-Emily's Scarf

I have included directions for an adult length scarf and a child's length as well. Please let me know if I have made errors so I can correct them. I made it so that the leaves fall correctly on both sides when worn around the neck, but you could knit it all one lenth and reverse the end section if you wanted to. I used Caron Simply Soft Brights and got a length of just under 4 feet with the child number of repeats, but any worsted weight yarn should work. You could also use smaller yarn, needles and add more repeats to suit your fancy. Hope you enjoy it.

I don't have time to knit it right now, but I did read the chart, and it looks okay to me. Love this pattern, Rachael. Clever of you to graft it in the middle so that if falls the same way on both ends. Keep an eye on it as it is worn, and let us know if the kitchner stitch stretches with use. That can be a problem when used for shoulder seams, but I don't know if it will make any difference in a scarf. Doesn't seem like it should.

What a thoughtful gift to the knitting community. I would probably make this for an adult. but the pattern is lovely. Many thanks.

Oh goodness me I don't know how I missed this. It is beautiful Rachael. I love that you made it so "that the leaves fall correctly on both sides" that is a pet peeve of mine. I love the Estonian style lace, (can you hear the however coming?) however it drives me nuts that one side the Lily of the Valley go the right way and the other side they are upside down. I know I'm going to have to be picky when I go to knit one of those. Thank you so much for sharing this pattern with us.
