What project is each of you up to?

While looking at my blocking problem I've been trying to find a heart that pleased me for my granddaughter's wedding in June. I shrunk down the butterfly heart to 2 ds between all picots and changed the point to a Josephine knot. One heart as requested by my youngest granddaughter is right at one and a fourth inches in size. I attempted joining hearts by a tiny ring but decided I liked just joining third picots instead. (One done each way in the two joins in the photo) I am rather pleased with the result.

Anyway this will be applied over a round of lace made from her mother's wedding dress and a round of lace made from mine, ending up on her bouquet. Then 3 or 5 little hearts will be on picks in each bridesmaids bouquets. Ordered size 40 Elizabeth thread in natural today so I can get started on the real thing!!

Her dad is in charge of the flowers and has ordered 60 hearts. I have until June. At 45 minutes for a heart I shall be busy for awhile.

Wow, it's gorgeous! I would love to see pics of the bouquets when they're all finished. What an amazing gift for your granddaughter.

There is an echo in the room ! Ha! Lovely lovely little hearts! Seems you have your work cut out for you there. I would love to see photos when you are finished.., they will be really pretty on picks in the bouquets.


As for what I'm currently working on..... I'm trying my hand at decorating some shuttles! What fun!

What a lovely keepsake for your granddaughter. I can see these finding their way into her daughters wedding one day.

Right now I'm learning the ins and outs and overs and unders of Celtic tatting. Maybe one day I'll stop throwing away thread and actually have something worthwhile to show y'all.

Oooooohhhh, what a fun idea jamlover! Those hearts are certainly pretty. You granddaughter is lucky indeed.

I am working on non-tatting projects right now - tatting and knitting are stress relievers. Tatting a pair of barefoot sandals, knitting a pair of slippers (almost done with the second one, yay!) and a potholder. I foraged into dyeing thread in the summer, and am very happy with that too.

oh my those are beautiful! and I love the idea of using generations of lace! Gorgeous. and only 45 mins a heart! I think they'd take me at least 3 hours! I'm foolishly working on a parasol. Just trying to get the spokes positioned correctly took me two days...I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew!

Right Now I am only working on the Minor Norweigion Dragon, I got the first wing completed tonight!
Tomorrow I need to round up my shuttles & create a busy bag for a 3 day stay at the Hospital :( Nothing Horrible! Just Having a Baby :) & after that I am not sure what I'll be working on other than changing Diapers!

In my mini container in my purse is Jon's Coaster/Jar Cover... just a few more 5 ring bunches on the last round and its finished... and then there's the Finnish flowers that will be come a sort of Grandmother's flower garden tatted thingy, and my lace curtains have been neglected for 6 months, and the "California doily" is waiting for a new next to last round after I removed the last one that wasn't working, and then the hanky edging for my sister has stalled at about 1/3 finished.. I'm sure there are others in the UFO drawer. My most absorbing project right now is the Australian Trove Patterns (see the Buried Treasure thread).

Even given all that I won't be as busy as TiaLD77! Here's to an easy delivery.. you have my best wishes.

I'm working on wedding tatting as well... Mine is 40-45 (or more) repeats of Yarnplayer's Arches Doily... in 2 sizes to break up the monotany *sp*. After that, it'll just be various odds & ends as requested by future sister in law. In my purse is a random edging to use up some left over thread; may or may not make an appearance in my very empty Etsy shop once finished....who knows?
