Default Source for size 40 thread in cream

Cream seems a little hard to come by. I contacted Handy Hands and her best match to cream she thought was a natural. But after it arrived to me it is white unless you set the white right next to it and put a worked up piece of it and a piece of white on a white background and look real close. Then there's a little difference. Need about 300 yards.

The granddaughter wants it for the little one inch hearts I'm going to do for her. All help appreciated.

Or does anyone have a ball of 40 cream they would be willing to sell?

Aunt Lydia's is the prettiest Cream I have ever found but the smallest it comes in is the size 30. http://store.knitting-warehouse.com/...e-crochet.html

Here is a size 40 Cream on Ebay: http://www.etsy.com/listing/89557639...on-sizes-10-40

I also found this one: http://www.knitshop.co.uk/40-count-c...nt-cotton.html

I've also been looking for a cream and never thought to post. Maybe you ought to recommend it to HH as a color suggestion (or maybe she'll take the hint).
I'll be watching this thread for cream...yum.. not even whipped!

If you write to HH, give them the link for the Aunt Lydias so they know what cream looks like. I'm serious...it is a very luscious cream!

Odd, I have a Handy Hands "cream" that is the same color as my DMC "cream". When I looked the number up on HH it was listed as "ecru". That's the color name of the DMC thread as well. That may be what you are looking for. I'd send you mine, but all I have is 20 and 80 in that color.

I would stay clear of the "pearle" cotton - IMHO it's way too soft for tatting, the 2 spools I have are very fuzzy soft. Stick with Cordonnet, either the HH or the DMC

I ordered 4 balls of Lizbeth in "natural", looking for cream as well. When it got here, it was 3 different colors! 1 yellowish, one cream, & 2 almost white.... I went with Ecru, even if it isn't cream. Nancy at Be-stitched was very helpful. She sat in the floor in her thread room & pulled out things until we had what I needed, then matched them & sent them to me, free of shipping & everything.

Arcane information: Norma Benporath loved cream. Thought it the perfect color for a d'oyley on a wood surface. She believed it was lighter than ecru. I definitely have seen ecru, but may not have ever seen what you're calling cream.

Cream is a warmer color than Ecru...it has a bit more yellow and less of the light brown look that Ecru has. When you get the two colors together, you can really see the difference.

    Aunt Lydia's in Cream

    Aunt Lydia's in Ecru.

To me, the cream is a richer look in doilies than the ecru....I agree with Norma on that one!
