would anyone happen to have a pretty pattern using split rings? I just learned how and I want to practice while actually making something.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oipZMzF7bl...0/DSCN2629.jpg has a bookmark that would work with split rings instead of SSSRs.
http://tatmantats.files.wordpress.co...rsnowflake.pdf is a snowflake with lots of SRs.
Here is a remake of an old patter transforming from rings to splitrings: http://nuperelle.net/Sammensatt/Diam...acassarEng.htm
I'm in the prosess of reusing the splitring frame in a new pattern - which will be available online later (April or May).
Dragons are friendly and nice - when viewed at a distance!
Maybe you like this http://www.intatters.com/attachment....7&d=1291028517. Always 3 knots between the picots.
Hi Sonja, may I ask where I can find the pattern please?
It isn't actually my pattern...I made something similar by approximating stitch counts looking at the .jpg file:
Middle row SR 3-3-3-3/3-3-3-3 until desired length
Light blue row C 4-4-4 lock join to middle picot of next SR for sides and C 4-4-4-4 for two end chains.
Dark blue row Alternate C 3-3-3 and C 4 (or 5 depending on tension) around with the picot chain over the Vs between chains and the short chain between the two picots on the same chain.
No guarantees on the chain stitch counts working perfectly...it depends on tension, I ended up using C 5 - 1---1 - 5 for my long chains to get a 3 picot cluster instead of two picots on the chain. I will have to block my version, though, because it ripples.
Well, the simplest thing is to make a necklace. Start with a normal ring, then make split rings for the length. You can vary the size of the rings for interest, or add beads to the rings, or put beads between the rings on both threads. Use 2 colors. The variations are endless. And you will have something to wear that you made yourself, in your choice of length, color and beads.
If a necklace seems too daunting, a bookmark would work too.
There is also AnneB's Minor Norwegian Dragon, which may or may not be "too much" - do take a look here too, as lacetatting recently made diagrams specifically for split rings and SSSRs
And one of my favourite bookmarks:

Hurrah for the splits! My favorite split ring pattern: http://nuperelle.net/motiver/Tardis_eng.pdf (thank you AnneB!) It works up very nicely in variegated thread in spring colors. mmmmm Could be just what I need for a day in Monterey.
Have fun!
