    Thanks everybody for your kind remarks.

    Lynn, the photo of the doily (which was probably worked in white) in the book is black & white and not attractive at all. In fact I only looked at it closely because I was hunting around for a leaf pattern. There are flowers in the original pattern but you couldn't really tell from photo. Yes, I did embellish with more flowers, inspired by my jasmine plant -it's in full bloom today BTW, the morning air is filled with its fragrance as I tap away on my laptop!
