    A lovely choise of colours!

Jan Stawasz's patterns are tricky, but might be easier for a freshman tatter tham for an experienced tatter as I experienced some years. First I was frustrated; how can this lady who have just started tatting, handle his patterns better than me, who at that time had been tatting for a bit more than 20 years? Then I realized why: as a beginner tatter you read the pattern properly. As an experienced tatter you (or at least I) might read the pattern less thoroughly and make assumptions based on what you did on the previous rows/rings and with the patterns of Jan Stawasz that does not work, there are a lot of changes in the stitch count even for elements that seems to be similar. And it does not help that the numbers of stitches are placed at different places of the pattern to not crowd one place with too many numbers. All that said: I love his patterns and wish he would make a second book.

Oh Wow, fantastic! I do have this pattern as well, but it looks so complicated so I went with my Jasmine doily instead! You really did an excellent job, I am envious! This doily would be perfect for putting next to a "rose famille" design antique Chinese vase. What threads did you use & colours?

Lovely. The last row of fluffy roundy looking clouds really impressed me. Are you going to frame it?

AnneB - I tat since 1999, but last year I learned from frakira new tips and tricks, I didn't know before. I love Jan Stawasz pattern too, but I don't understand his Jan's method. I use front side and back side.

elsiel - I use Turkish thread - Oren Bayan - Maxi. It is quite thick thread. I use ten different balls of this thread and I randomly selected colors, some streaked, some not.

janet6567, FairyTattingAndTings - What I will do with this doily.. I'll put it on the table, or maybe I'll frame it :-)
